Newcomers/Others to Watch:
Alayna Day SR
Liberty Stitzman SO
Senior Players:
-Genesis Martinez Coach’s Thoughts: “The team goes as she goes. She is a centerpiece to this team. Genesis leads by example and is an outstanding young lady. She has a bright future ahead of her as she looks to enter into higher education.”
-Alayna Day Coach’s Thoughts: "Alayna has shown up since day 1 and has been willing to put in the work. She has been willing to ask questions. Alayna leads by example in practice with her work ethic. We are excited to have her as a Lady Muhl.”
Interesting Things About Your Team:
1) Rebuilding the program started 2 years ago. 2 years ago, we won 6 games and were blown out most games. Last year we won 8 games and lost 6 by less than 6 points. We are looking to get over the hump this year. Even with graduation and transfers, we expect to still get over the hump as we continue to improve.
2) We have several players that were working throughout the shutdown in the spring and summer. Working at restaurants and local grocery stores as teenagers. We thank them for being essential workers.
Outlook/Team Preview:
Due to graduation and transfers, the Lady Muhls are young but still looking to compete. The returning players, with the addition of Alayna Day, should allow the Lady Muhls to continue to improve as they have the past 2 seasons.

Senior Players:
-Amy Flannery Coach’s Thoughts: Tough kid, aggressive, not afraid to do the little things, ability to effectively guard the opposing team’s best player, will easily be our team’s leader in charges drawn.
-Alexis Baez Coach’s Thoughts: Tough kid, aggressive, rebounds well for a guard and can put the ball in the basket.
-Madison Rentschler Coach’s Thoughts: Knows her spots and does what is asked of her very well, can put the ball in the basket from the perimeter

Senior Players:
Ashlyn Clark Coach’s Thoughts: Finished 7th in the county in scoring (14.6 pts/game), leading rebounder and FT shooter. Ashlyn is the do-it-all player. Very versatile, hardworking, scrappy, willing to do the little things that may not show up on the sheet but help a team out immensely.
Interesting Things About Your Team:
3rd time in 5 years with only 1 senior
8 freshmen
Outlook/Team Preview:
With the loss of any summer work and fall open gym schedule, it will be anyone’s guess as to how we will do. We have had several small classes come through the school and this is the third year (in five years) we will be entering the season with one senior. This is also the largest freshman class we have ever had (eight) and several of them will be called upon to provide varsity minutes. I would not consider this to be a rebuilding year, however we will be very young. It is a matter of who will step up and play beyond their years.

Newcomers / Others to Watch:
Meaghan Dietrich Soph
Tara Haring Soph
Lauren Akers Fr.
Taylor Greenawalt Fr.
Kaley Nawrocki Fr.
Senior Players: Coach Vink: "These three are a coach's dream trio, a great blend!"
-Abby Reasoner Coach's Thoughts: Leads with her intensity, at practice, in games, even when practicing on her own. Simply put - an Athlete.
-Maggie Schaeffer Coach's Thoughts: The epitome of "doing more", both on and off the court. Has worked hard to earn varsity minutes in her senior year and leads team organization.
-Karlie Vanek Coach's Thoughts: A leader and a performer. She is the catalyst for the team's chemistry, lives "I'm with you" with an unwavering commitment to support her teammates.
Interesting Things About The Team:
A typical small school team where all players play multiple sports, none are "basketball primary focus" players - soccer, softball are first for many. But they commit wholeheartedly to the sport, if they didn't take on the load of multiple sports we couldn't field teams in every sport! They are really pulling together as a team. They embraced "I'm with you" as a point of emphasis this year in these challenging times, choosing to face the adversities thrown at them together as a team.
Outlook/Team Preview:
With no offseason it is hard to really read where the team is at. But despite losing 3 starters and 60% of last year's scoring, the team has great energy, passion and chemistry which gives a positive outlook.

Key Players Lost:

Key Returnees):
Kristina Kauffman (JR)
Dalaney Kutzler (JR)
Makenzie Kramer (SR)
Kelsey Biehn (JR)
Kylie Mossie (SR)
Newcomers/Others to Watch:
Emily Brownell (JR)
Morgan Snyder (FR)
Ryanne Wheeler (FR)
Senior Players:
-Kylie Mossie Coach’s Thoughts: She is a player who really developed last season during her junior year. Her confidence is building and she has gone out and found ways to make herself better.
-Makenzie Kramer Coach’s Thoughts: She is a hard-working player who has spent the offseason doing whatever she could to get herself in shape for the season. Very dedicated and a hard worker.
Interesting Things About Your Team:
1. All five starters are returning from last season.
2. Small but strong freshman class coming in this season.
3. Many (most) of our players spent the offseason, through the pandemic, finding ways to train. Whether with a personal trainer on Zoom or anywhere they could find a court, at Berks Elite Training, or just getting together to do what they could as a team to get better.
Outlook/Team Preview:
With the new division alignment and Wyomissing moving out of the division, someone else will need to step up and take control of Division 4. I think we should be right there in the mix at the top throughout the season. Based on having all five starters back, I think we should be the favorite but at the same time the division could be wide open. You still have McCorkle at Antietam and Clark at Brandywine and both of them have the ability to put their team on their shoulders and lead them to victories.
